Any difference with PD 16/17 and the 400 series Nvidia (NVENC) driver?

So I read on the web the other day what Nvidia changed in nvenc when Nvidia updated its drivers into the 416+ versions. I see that PD 16 and 17 were patched to work with the version of the driver.

I am wondering if anyone has noticed any difference/improvement with encoding with the newer driver and patched PD?

(Probably been asked before, but I couldn't find the question in a search.)

If you are using modern Nvidia GPU, you have no choice but using NVENC, CUDA acceleration is dropped here.

Thanks.

Yes, I know.

I was simply curious to know if anyone sees an Image Quality change (presumably improvement) or performance change (improvement?) after Nvidia updated their NVNEC driver. For I presume that Nvidia made this drasitc change for a good reason.
