Hello,

I like to buy a Surface Book 2 and I like to use PowerDirector 16 on it. I do at the moment only 1080p videos and maybe some day 4K. I use it only for holiday videos, so not every day use.

I am now wondering which spec would be OK.
I think the i5 should wor OK, but I am unsure if the Intel HD 620 works or do I need the GeForce GTX 1050 2GB GDDR5?

Thanks for any help

You don't need to have a discrete GPU, but having one helps speed up producing and when applying certain effects and corrections. I have an i7 Surface Pro 3 from 2015 and I have no trouble working with HD clips, so I don't think you'll have any problems with the typical projects you're describing.

If/when you work with 4k vids, you may want to turn on Shadow Files because they will greatly speed up your editing experience.

Thank you. Then I will go with the small one.
Rendering can run over night, there is a lot time.

Cheers
