Given that my camera generates AVC files H 264 M2TS Pal 16Mbps 1920x1080 25fps to Dolby 256 Kbps audio,
I wonder what the best setting for archiving is.
In Produce I can select AVC H264 with the options: M2TS, MP4, MKV.
In MP4 presets it is only Progressive, setting "Custom" can also set interlaced.
I'd like to hear from you.

You don't have to archive your raw clips. They are already in a high quality, compressed and fully supported format.

If you have long parts that you don't need (like at the beginning or end when the camera was recording but you thought it had stopped), then it would make sense to trim the clip and only keep the useful content.

The quickest way to do that would be to place the clip on the timeline, set the project frame rate 25fps, and trim it. In the Produce module, click on Profile Analyzer and then select the Intelligent SVRT (or Best Matched Format) profile with the highest Workload Reduced (or As Source) percentage, then produce.

The best/fastest possible situation would be to have SVRT show a 100% reduction, which means all PD has to do is copy the clip with different start/end points and it won't have to produce it at all. If SVRT is not available, (or if it's not very close to 100%), choose the top profile in Best Matched.

Svrt suggests this same profile.
My question is: it is advisable to store the M2TS or MP4 container.
I think I have read that MP4 is a more widespread and flexible standard. Is that it?
