Can I upload disk movies into the PD17 Library?

Hi, I'm new to the Cyberlink forums and products,

I only bought PowerDVD 17 for one purpose. To upload movies from my large collection of (non bluray) dvds into a program on my computer and subsequently stream to my chromecast in absence of a non bluray DVD player.
I have tried uploading my disk of Friday the 13th for a trial run but upon hitting 'add movie folder' and selecting the disk I got the message "PD17 cannot add optical drives to the media library, these folders will be ignored".

So, is there any other way that I'm missing to upload these disks permanently onto PD17, or even just to stream them to the chromecast?
