There is alot of items listed at various parts in the registry related to downloaded video files. They are locate in mediacache5\data5 and mediaobj\mediacache5\data5\thumbnails in various hives. Are these necessary or can they be removed from registry? Any help would be appreciated. TIA

Since it says the folder is a "cache", it should be no harm to remove it, just like internet caches .
