Adding object in spherical image - PhotoDirector 9

Hi all,

I'm trying to add an object (ie.: a logo or a 2D photo) into a spherical image.

The 360-editor doesn't show me an option for adding objects, so I've tried to do this in the Layer editor.
No success: a new layer just adds a flat object on the flattened spherical image. After exporting the image (see attachment) I had to tag it as a 360-image. Viewing it within the 360-editor the new object (the logo) gets distorted since it hasn't been really placed nicely into the sphere.

So here's my question:
how can I correctly place a 2D object into a spherical image in PhotoDirector 9?

Thanks for your help on this one!

Hello X-ploring360,

Not being a 360 photo/video person yet, I had to go searching for what was needed.

You were on the right track using the Layers module, but the logo image needs to be prepared in a particular way for it to work. There are different ways to go about this but this is the method I used - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRdLxf-LRBQ The first section is preparing the logo for video &, at ~4:00 he shows the extra steps for 360 photo prep.

A slightly different method is shown here - http://360rumors.com/2016/07/technique-fast-and-easy-way-to-add-logo.html

N.B. Those steps can't be done in PhD, but the final assembly can (just as you did previously in Layers)

This is the original logo & how it looked after following the steps.

After I prepared the logo, I opened the 360 photo in the Layers module, then added the logo & saved as. With the logo embedded, I converted it to a spherical (globe) image in PhD9. You can see the images here - https://www.facebook.com/pix.el.395

Hey Pix,

You're a hero digging into my questions!

I've just successfully added a logo (the south pole one) into my image. Still a lot to discover in this work around, but I'm glad I found Hugin (https://sourceforge.net/projects/hugin/?source=typ_redirect) through your 360 Rumours-link.

Because I was looking for a less costly alternative for the Adobe I've chosen to work with PhD9. So I'm very happy to find those free work arounds when I have bigger demand than PhD9 can deliver, you're being a great help and support in this. Thank you for this!
