I had this is PD 14 forum but now it is still the same after I upgraded to 15.

Hi,

I am editing Win 10 Pro x64 with PD 15 and I have created a static text title for the start.

I inserted a stnadrd text title in front of a 4 minute clip.

Every time I go to play it to see how it looks for time etc., it stops at the join and the audio does not start

After 30 secs or so, it jumps quite a few secs into the clip and the audio starts at the beginning while the cursor is a few secs infront. It goes to normal a few seconds later.

I have never seen this before in PD or any editors I use.

Any suggestions please?

Thanks

oz

ozstar,
what is the type and resolution of your video files?
Are any enhancements, fixes applied?
What PREVIEW QUALITY level are you using?

You are getting a stutter/delay in your timeline because your machine is having a difficult time processing the elements in your timeline.

Could you please take the time to also attach your dxdiag so members might determine if anything is amiss? Generating a dxdiag is easy...

ozstar,
I see you have a 4k camera.
Video Recording Rate (ABR / VBR)
XAVC S 4K: Approx.100Mbps/Approx.60Mbps, XAVC S HD: Approx.50Mbps, AVCHD PS: Approx.28Mbps/FX:

And you state..."I have never seen this before in PD or any editors I use."

It is my experience reading this forum that editing 4K requires, for most people, either using shadow/proxy files generated by PowerDirector, or pre-converting to a less compressed format.
This is a forum link to a thread explaining the conversion many use. http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/46177.page

That is as far as I can go on this topic, others may certainly jump in, but my 4K experience is quite limited, my I-phone.

Many thanks.

Doh !! I thought I did have Shadow enabled in Prefs but on checking now found it wasn't ticked.
I did tick it now but maybe it's oo late to use it.

I wil take a read of that link now.

I usually only edit photos and 1080 Full HD, but after many years I have given in to shadow files, makes life much easier, especially with all the Tomfoolery I often have in a timeline. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

Yes I know what you mean..so much timeline time is wasted trying to get things to work, maintenance or waiting while they happen..
