Suggested order for editing a slideshow

I searched the forums and looked in the manual, but must have missed this both places. Is there a recommended order in which to edit a slideshow (and/or video)? That is, effects, PIP, particles, transitions, music track, voiceover, etc. I understand that selecting the order for scenes or slides comes first, but after that? Thanks... Regards,
Dan

I've never seen a "recommended" method. For me, it's a learning process of how many times I've gone back to change things.

I always put the audio/music in first. Most everything I do is timed with music.
Then I add the voice over. I also tweak the volume of the music so it's not louder than the voice.

I start with where I want the images to go in sequence to fit with lyrics of a song.
Then I go back to the start and determine which transitions I want and where.
Then I start over and sync the transitions with the beat of the music.
Then I start over and add titles and other text.
Then I add PiP (I have yet to use any particle stuff).
Then I start over and add effects. Note: I don't use the FX track. I add effects directly to the image/video. This allows me to add multiple effects.

I hope this helps,
Joe

Thanks! I've never attempted a long one, so thought I'd ask first. I was guessing that transitions would come later, since they often affect two slides, whereas effects are slide-specific. I suppose I should just experiment first, since I seem to always want to go back and change something. Regards,
Dan

My suggestion is keep track of when and how often you "go back" to make changes.
I have found myself wanting to see the un-effected image most of the time. Especially with transitions.
Use my suggestion as a template and switch things around to fit your needs.
I find it's based on how your brain works (thought processes).
If you want to see more quickly the end product, then add effects before transitions. CyberPowerPC | Win7HP-64 | AMD FX-8320 3.5 Ghz | 8GB Mem | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB | WEI 5.9
