Removing the "Render Preview" portions of a project

I used "render preview" on my 20-second project, which caused a continuous green line to appear above track 1. After some edits, that green line is now in segments...part of the project remains rendered (green lines appear above those portions) and the rest (where I edited) has no green lines. This partial rendering seems to be messing up the playback. How can I "un-render" the portions of the project where those lines appear?

(I started a new thread because this is a specific "how-to" question, slightly different from the "I'm having a problem" posted in the other thread.)

1) Open PD14 with no project.
2) In pref > General > "Manually Delete" all temp files, or at least the "Preview cache rendered files" ones
3) Load project

One could also just delete the whole "Preview Cache Files" folder in your current "Export folder:" as defined in pref.

I just found myself with the same question as this. Sorry to bring it up again.

I, too, found that the previously rendered section caused slight issues. Not to mention the fact that I just wanted the rendered section to revert back to the standard preview. I searched the forums and found this answer.

It works fine, but it seems to me that the system should have a simple facility to remove any rendered sections, rather than using a 'work around' fix.

Incidentally, I could find no reference to the 'green line' in the help. After an accidental 'Render Preview' several weeks ago, and ages looking through the help, it took me a while to work out - on my own - what it was. Again, the help is very limited on its explanations and information.
