Sorry, but this Patch with PD14 v.2302 always crashes.

Sometimes if i load an existens Projekt, or watch the Clips in The Timeline or Press the Button "Create Disc".

No matter if it's a new project or not.

I couldn't work with PD14 with this Patch. With Nvidia Geforce GTX960.

Sorry, but very bad work.

I sent always the Crashing Error Report, but this Never expected this Bugs !!

With PD13 all runs smooth ( with the older Bugs in it )

Sometimes a few setting MIGHT make it work.

NVIDIA Control Panel

Video > Adjust video color settings > Advanced > Dynamic range Full (0-255) Apply

Virtual memory 24550 based on 16GB RAM

PowerDirector Preferences > Max undo 10

Enable HD video processing (shadow file) uncheck

Auto check for softwaree updates uncheck

DirectorZone uncheck everything.

Display > HD Preview Resolution
Preview mode > Real-time Preview

Hardware Acceleration > check both

Project > recently used projects "6" uncheck everything else.

Produce > check top 2 only

Improvement Program uncheck

NO Auto Save!

GTX 960 OC Factory

Sorry, couldn't test it again. Have reverted back to Original Build 2019 with an Macrium Reflect Image.

And there are No more Crahes.

And PD13 Build 3130 didnt crasches,too.

So, there are bugs with Patch 2302 with my System and it is unusable for me.

Hardware acceleration for HEVC UHD (H265 to H265) is greyed out in this build. It worked perfectly with v2019 and the latest Nvidia drivers. I tried to revert back to v2019 with no success. How do I revert back?

Edit: I instead went back to Nvidia fw358.91 from fw359 and now the hardware acceleration for HEVC UHD custom profile 80Mbps is enabled again with patch v2302. No need to go back to v2019.

However the distorted horizontal lines at the bottom still remain on this build when rendering H265 to H265 or XAVC-S.

Does anybody know how to get rid of the huge empty space under all my posts? Very annoying..

That looks like it's in your profile's signature (or possibly the Bio section if you filled that in instead). If you don't see the extra lines at the end, try deleting the "2XBDR-208DBK." line and everything after that (Shift+Ctrl+End, then Del)

You should be able to tell if you got rid of it by going to any page where you've posted and refreshing it.

EDIT: They're gone!

Dafydd, I don't have the QS HEVC/H.265 option with my HD 4600.

My understanding is that all 4th gen Intel CPUs (i7 4xxx) and later can support hardware *HEVC* but no luck here with 2302. I've tried it with the latest Intel driver (15.4300) and the new beta (15.4326), still no go.

It would be also great to use the new SVRT, but even with a 4k H.265 source clip the QS hardware produce option is not available:

Unfortunately, this patch still does not address the signature *issue* causing media errors when working with AVI clips in Win10

For anyone seeing these errors when previewing AVI clips on the timeline, I think the best work-around is still to install the K-LITE codec pack and use the LAV Splitters as detailed in this *sticky*

I'll keep testing for this issue on each new patch because it also affects everybody using the MagicYUV codec via the Magic+PD *app* on Win10 machines.

optodata, thank you very much for direct link. In the Evening i test the patch (direkt Link).

But i Think my downloads are correctly and had no hope it would change anything.

I Post the result(s) later.

Edit: sorry, same Issues. I think it's an issue between switching from Intel HD4600 and GTX960 GPU and back again.

For the first time before i installed the 2302 Patch, i activated the GTX GPU. Now there were no crashes like before.

Then i switch to Intel HD 4600 Graphics, and back again. Now the crashes are back again.

Restart the System nothing changes.

With PD13 there was no problem to produce with Intel HD 4600 and then switch to GTX960.

But now PD14 always crashes.

With Build 2019 it all runs smooth. What does the newer Patch changes ?!

I use now Build 2019 since the Error is fixed.

The CL downloader does a MD5 check so it's virtually impossible to get a bad download, verify data integrity of source vs download using the checksum would error!

I'm not sure how you are switching between iGPU and GPU, I have often found it necessary to unselect any options in pref > HA and then after switching GPU's, launch PD and don't do anything, just shutdown. Launch again and then things usually progress as desired.

I switch between iGPU and GPU in Windows. This was since 1,5 Years no problem.

And in PD13 there were no crahses, if i switch the GPU in Windows and works directly with the Software.

And with PD14 all works fine in Build 2019 with switching from Intel to Geforce and back again, without crashes.

In Summary, Patch 2302 causes this Errors or Crashes. It's the simplest explanation.

But many thanks for your help

Thanks Dafydd! I can also confirm that the QuickSync HEVC option is not available my Surface Pro 3 with an i7 4650U and HD 5000 graphics. It might be helpful to know if the feature is limited to a specific range of chips or HD xxxx versions.
