A lot of cash buried in there

What I don't get is... why 2 x GTX970? Are playing any games? Even then one GTX980 would be more efficient. As for PD, it cannot use 2 cards anyway, plus a GTX960 has a better hardware video decoder/encoder, being a Maxwell 2 generation.

Wow, those sequential write SSD speeds are twice as fast as mine and the sequential read speed is 5x higher (about the same as my RAMDrive)!

What's the Transcend series you're using? I think you need them to keep your 8-core Wildebeest CPU busy! No wonder you feel like a teenager tongue-out

Transcend 512gb ssd - TS512GSSD370

The posted crystal disk info is the fastest I have ever seen for a ssd. Transcend spec for that drive is here: http://www.transcend-info.com/products/images/modelpic/631/ProductSheet_SATAIIIseries-V17.pdf .

The customer reviews on that ssd is found here: http://www.amazon.com/Transcend-512GB-2-5-Inch-Internal-TS512GSSD370/dp/B00K9HID1C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1443541151&sr=8-1&keywords=ts512gssd370 . The crystal disk mark are what is expected as shown with customer supplied crystal disk screenshot info and is what I expected for a ssd. It is about the same as what other users see in the PD forums on their ssd testing. See the last thread on this link to see other users ssd crystal disk screenshots : http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/45542.page and follow the link to the PD13 forum.

Wow, read speed about 5x of the ssd manufacturer spec. is out of this world. Paul1945 has one fast pc.

In the top post, the Intel SSD 750/400 is listed and the crystal disk mark is probably for this PCIe ssd. See this review page 3: http://www.thessdreview.com/our-reviews/intel-750-pcie-ssd-review-400gb/3/ . This may confirm what Paul see in his testing.

The boot time if using this ssd for booting is about 3x(slower) as compared to the the competition on page 5 of this review. It may be a combination of PhysX, UFEI bios, ramdisk, or other factors that affects the testing speed. Read the entire article. Regardless, this is one of the fastest pc we have seen in this forum.

Thank you Paul1945 for posting your information.

Paul, could you run a test on your wildebeest/gazelle?

If you put a 4k clip on your timeline and use Power Tools to rotate it 180 and use Video Speed to go 3x faster, can your amazing machine show the preview smoothly in Full HD?

Let me know what you find, and tell me if the clip is 25p or 50p.

Paul,

What is this ? Only one CPU socket in your machine ? Not even a pair of Xeon E5-2697 in sight ?

No IPS display ? And only 28" ?

Seriously though, the 2 xGTX 970s are a waste.

A single GTX 960 would have been better.

I would have gone with 7200pm rpm HDDs rather than SSHD, too. I don't see how SSHD can help for video editing. The SSD part is too small to matter. And for caching you have the 64GB RAM in your PC.

How do you like HC-X1000 ? I wonder how it performs indoor or lowlight with the small sensor.
