FYI, I know Cyberlink support reproduced the problem with both my Pentax K-30 and Canon T3i. But so far, no other updates. No workaround, and no fix.
Here is the test case for the Canon - case CS001512682 :

Then :
1. start PowerDirector 14
2. open the t3isvrtbug project
3. click produce
4. click "intelligent SVRT"
5. a dialog comes up with a custom profile in red, with MPEG4, 1920x1080, frame rate 29.97, bit rate 46343K.
Workload is 0%.
There is no way to enable SVRT.
I tried to create a manual profile with these settings also, and still couldn't enable SVRT.

C:\Users\Julien Pierre\AppData\Roaming\CyberLink\PowerDirector\12.0
(This should be your user's location, obviously)
2. start PowerDirector 12
3. open the k30svrtbug.PDS project attached
4. click produce
5. click H.264 AVC
6. select profile type "custom"
7. verify that the "Pentax K-30" profile is selected
8. click "fast rendering technology" checkbox
9. see that SVRT radio button is available . Select it
10. render with SVRT - it works.
Repeat in PowerDirector 14.
1. copy profile.ini to
C:\Users\Julien Pierre\AppData\Roaming\CyberLink\PowerDirector\14.0
(This should be your user's location, obviously)
2. start PowerDirector 14
3. open the k30svrtbug.PDS project attached
4. click produce
5. click H.264 AVC

8. click "fast rendering technology" checkbox
9. see that SVRT radio button is unavailable
