Hi there,

Haven't used PD12 for about 6 months, and now when I want to modify a DVD/BluRay menu I can't do it as all I get is a grey screen. I only want to change the background on a certain menu. Can someone help me please.

Thanks

You can update the nvidia graphics card driver and see if it solves the problem.

I'm getting desperate now!

Could this be fixed by reinstalling PD12? I have found the downloaded copies of the PD12 installation files on my archived downloaded files and the CD key in the registry.

Try UNchecking "Enable Hardware Encoding" under Edit->Options-> Hardware Acceleration.

That had no effect. frown

I should have mentioned at the start, that the problem is with Menu Designer. Every other part of the software is OK.

FWIW I downloaded/installed the latest Nividia update yesterday, but that didn't help.

Thanks IanB

Next suggestion...

Click START button|RUN and type "regedit." (no quotes)
Drill down to this folder...
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cyberlink\PowerDirectorX
(with X being the version of PD being used)

Near the bottom of the right-pane list look for...
Key VideoRenderer

Double-click on that entry and change the default value = VMR7 to VMR9

Click on OK, the the upper-right X to exit.
You can revert to the earlier setting if necessary.

Caution, registry edits are immediate. Mistakes can disable Windows.

OOOPPPSSS! embarassed

I don't know what I did to miss that, but i eventually found it. I think I may have gone into LOCAL_MACHINE embarassed

Anyway, to cut a long story short, I changed it to VMR9, but it didn't help. cry

In the meantime I will email CyberLink customer customer support. Hoping the issue may be solved here.

Thanks IanB

Install this driver, IF it is appropriate for your system.

http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/83080/en-us

If problems arise, roll back to the prior driver via CONTROL PANEL|DEVICE MGR|VIDEO ADAPTERS|<your adapter name>|DRIVERS tab.

All is now well. Contacted customer support and they advised to uninstall, run the cleaner, then re-install. Then, in the meantime I had problems with my main Hard Drive (Disk0) as it was not booting from a restart or shutdown and had to get Dell to replace it. Consequently I had to do a lot of re-installs. Re-installed PD12 and its updates and all appears OK.

I have another query but will add a new post.

Thanks. IanB
