I have had powerdirector for quite a few years now and I have had a butt full of their non-customer support. Everytime I upgrade my computer and have to load powerdirector on it. ..it is a circus to do so. I even bought the backup cd just so I wouldn't have to deal with their tech support. . .and the disks won't load. ..no setup file on this disk??? I called their tech support line and you have to enter some stupid code number that you have to find buried in their website. I finally got the number and then their phone system would not recognize my cell tones as I enter them and then it disconnects. One good thing that cyberlink is good at is taking your money...I must say their website is loaded with buttons everywhere for you to upgrade or to purchase their overpriced junk. So...i would like to switch to a company who supports their users. Thinking of Corel's software. ..anyone had experience with it?

Patience and persistence. Dealing with phone, cable, computer giants here often results in the same frustration...but eventually things usually work out.

You won't find discussion of other than Cyberlink products in these groups, but you will get courteous and knowledgeable help. Keep that in mind as you consider your options.

I have Corel Video Studio 5 on my computer alongside Power Director 8. Corel has its uses but it has some shortcomings as well, so for much of my editing and the bulk of authoring work to disc, it's Power Director for me. Punching in code numbers via phone? don't use your mobile phone, use the landline phone instead.(we don't call them "cell phones" in Australia, we call them what they are because they are "mobile", able to go with the user, anywhere!)
