Hello to all,
I have not been on the Forum so much lately as I have been having a blast with PD13.
Beautiful mpeg2 capture (via dongle) of old VHS tapes, smooth. I'm already using it for client videos and making money with PowerDirector. Yes, it's legal.
After the initial list of missteps on the launch, it's actually quite good.
The New Blue Titler is SUPER, as well as the new title functions of PD itself.
The addition of the Adorage series is also a good move. I will say, though, that Adorage could use a little updating it's still fun to use.
Sure, I miss the Freesound link, and more than a few unexplained PD crashes, and Smartsound still wreaks havoc with my timeline scrubber, but as those crash reports arrive, and the Forum experts reveal things that a BETA TEAM would have caught, fixes will be made. Patch #1 anybody?
This is a really fun program!

Not too much on details needed here, just use a quality dongle. I used my Hauppage tv tuner dongle which also converts. I installed only the drivers, not the software. I used quality RCA connectors, and captured to mpeg2. I would like more format choices but since this was going to DVD there was no real issue. If it was going to the net an mp4 capture would have been better if available. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

Barry, I see in your signature the Canon VIXIA HV30. I think that camera has a DV-passtrough function that can take an analog video and transform it into DV files... It could do also the VHS conversion nice.

Yes Sonic67. I've used it but the setup can be fussy. The dongle is so easy. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

I have it installed as a trial, but I am disappointed of the encoding speed. On my system is some 3 times slower than the PD12.
