I just bought the updrade from PD 11 to PD 12. When I opened the software, I received a box telling me that file MSVCR80.dll was missing from my computer and to try reinstalling the software. I just installed it!! What is happenning? When I clicked the dialog box 6 or 7 times, the box went away. When I closed the program and re opened it, the same dialog box appeared and after clicking it 6 or 7 times it went away. Can someone tell me what is going on!! Thanks from a novice user

I think it's an iTunes or QuickTime thing. Search this forum for possible solutions. I think you have to install iTunes or QuickTime. Mike B.

I don't know about your particular issue, but I believe I read that PD does require QuickTime. As I recall, I was given an option to install it when I installed PD. Regards,

There was a bad iTunes update a few months ago that caused this issue. The solution, if you check the Apple Forums, is to completely remove all Apple software from your computer, reboot, and then reinstall it all. A real pain, I know. I had to do it on my wife's computer, but it solved the problem. There were a LOT of unhappy iTunes customers, sort of like the latest Windows Update this week which has trashed manual Windows Updating, unless you switch your network adapter (iv) to the Google DNS servers (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.).

Hope this helps. Have a great day.

Dan, I installed Quick Time and the problem went away. Thank you very much.
