Hey guys!

First time I've ever ran into a problem with PD 12 on my new machine. I just encountered an issue today that when I was trying to put a mp4 supported file format onto the timeline, I get a Media Source Error(see below screenshot). This never happened before. PD 12 used to allow me to put mp4s on the timeline. Please help!

Thanks so much!

Hi Muwen,
1. Have you tried to import other *.mp4's, what happened?
2. Have you imported this Muwen360NewVideo.mp4 into PDR12 previously?
3. Please provide Part A and B in the guides: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/29701.page

Hi Muwen,
Just as an added thought.
1. Update your QuickTime player.
2. Using the Part J in the guide, please provide the MediaInfo for the .mp4 file.

3. What/where was the mp4 created with/in?

Dafydd,
i too am having a hard time with PD12. I cant seem to open my mp4 files to preview. I can get the audio but no picture! I am not the most computer literate unfortunately so please be kind. I get the exact same screen as the person above. Quicktime has been updated. I added DIVX hoping that would help at the advice of a friend, and updated Windows Media player. I use GoPro Cameras to record my video AND just this morning it was working fine... all of a sudden it just stopped working! Please help. I am completely lost and frustrated. I just bought this program hoping it would be better than Windows Movie Maker and so far it seems to be just as bad. Thank you for any help you can give.

Joe, please follow the steps Dafydd asked of Muwen, mainly run the DXDiag test and post the results here. Muwen's problem was solved by updating QT, but there are other possible reasons why you're having similar problems.

It may also help if you could attach a short clip to your response along with your DXDiag results. Use the blue Attachments button under the text window to attach the files.

Many people use GoPro with PD, and getting everything working might be as simple as updating one piece of software or reinstalling PD12. I'm sure you'll be up and running soon

You can also try right clicking on the program and "Run as administrator" and see if that works.
