Slow motion after Enhancing a track

This was new for me. I had a track that was just a little dark, so I added some brightness with the Enhance/Fix tab. Now, whenever that track is visible, it's all slow-motion, and then "catches up" from time to time. This is only during the edit process; it's not there in the final product.

Hard to believe that (what seems like it would be) a fairly static edit would have such a drastic effect on performance. These are music videos, live performances caught on multiple cameras, then fades, etc back and forth during the song.

Any ideas? I have the latest v11 update. Enable HD video processing is checked, as is Enable OpenCL. It's a pain, because I have to kind of "guess" what my final edit is going to look like. Chuck Puckett

This hints that brightness enhancement is taxing the PC's resources. Access the "sticky' at the top of this forum...

Follow the instructions for PART B and attach it to your next response.

Try lowering the PREVIEW quality to "high." This will place less strain on the system than the HD modes.

Hi Chuck -

Borgus1's suggestion is almost certainly it!

One common way people get round this when enhancements, effects, video speed etc cause display issues is to apply the enhancement (or whatever) and produce that section separately.

With the produced (enhance) file in the timeline instead of the original, your preview is more likely to run smoothly.

Cheers - Tony

Well, it was already set for High, and would not let me choose "Normal" or Low".
Next time I run into the problem, I can try Tony's suggestion. In general, the whole clip would need the brightness adjustment, so I could write that out, then use the brighter clip as new media import. Chuck Puckett
