I left Part 1 and returned. The audio clips now showed scattered, overlapping, or hidden under others. Many were relinked to the wrong video clips. I spent an hour untangling this mess. So PD12 has not fixed or even reduced this problem of mine.
I did try a few things. One is "Lock Range." That did not prevent my problem. Matter of fact, does anyone know what it is good for?? It makes no sense to me and I have yet to find a use for it.
Anyway, I did figure out a process that seems to work around my problem. If I "Select All" and move ALL of my project down stream to make plenty of room for my paste, it looks like the audio clips remain in correct relationship to thier videos. But if I make changes to the inserted stills, like their duration that requires the downstream media to move, my problem comes back again - audio moving to unpredictable places, and not visible until I leave my project and return again!
This is an extremely frutstrating problem. And I spent hours arranging and preparing to demonstrate this continuing problem to the R&D folks. I got a "I can see how that can be frustrating" comment, but I have not heard from them again. One comment seemed to say this will not be solved until the new operating system is used in 2014. There is hope, but I have tons of work to do now! That means repeating and repeating corrections to audio clip scrambling, making my work like triple.
Doesn't anyone else experience this???? Comments?
