Just want to make a brief announcement here, after receiving Dafydd's kind permission. As some of you may have noticed with the latest PowerDirector 12 update, it is now compatible with Pixelan plugins. Two of our plugins are mentioned there -- SpiceMaster 2.5 TFX and CreativEase. But actually we have released our ENTIRE range of plug-ins for CyberLink PowerDirector 12 this week. That means DissolveMaster, 3D Six-Pack, and FilmTouch 2 too -- all of which have been very popular on other platforms such as Premiere Pro, Sony Vegas, AE, etc.

They are all affordably priced (none are more than $59, and some are only $29), and have special additional discounts during this introductory period. We also have several bundles where you can save more. If you are curious, please visit our main PowerDirector page at <a>http://www.pixelan.com/cyberlink-plugins.htm</a>

Meanwhile, I will do my best to stay in touch on this forum to answer any questions that may arise about our plugins or to chime in occasionally when our plugins can solve a visual/creative problem or limitation that someone mentions.

Enjoy!

Thanks Barry for checking our CyberLink PowerDirector plugin offerings out. Certainly let me know here or at our web site if you have any questions or comments. Btw, it probably was just a typo in your reply, but "Pixela" is an entirely different company than us -- "Pixelan Software." Sincerely,

SpiceMaster 2.5 in use in PowerDirector 12
There is a Trial version and Pixelan have video tutorials for you too.

Image1 below - shows you three of the packs installed. Although only the "heading" displays for each here, a few clicks and you get a lot more.
Place the "Spice" transition,
Select Modify

Image2.
Click, Stand-alone Effect
Lots of controls available.
Select, "Choose Spice File"

Image3.
Loads of Folders full of Spices - transitions to choose from

I hope the images help. I'll do a few more for members shortly, on the other Spices and Effects.

A good question, thank you Neil. Saving a transition, creating one's own style is important for an "indie" editor.

Modified settings, yes. These settings can be applied to all selected transitions or not. A theme or style can therefore be retained for a single transition or used again with another selected transition.

see images.
Image1.
Shows the options to select after a transition has been altered.

Saving the file and recalling the data is easy.

I hope this answers your question.

I don't intend to hijack this thread but had a question. Are these plug ins compatible with PD 11?
Pixelan's web site just says Cyberlink and Power Director.

Thanks, they look like something I would be interested in.

Hi Wnuk,
Good question.
Only PDR12, so you'd need to upgrade. I saw the same reference to PowerDirector as you did, in others I think it say PowerDirector 12. Definitely only PowerDirector 12.

Just to add further confirmation to Dafydd's answers...

Yes, PD 12 is required to use our PowerDirector plug-ins. In fact, the latest build of PD12 is best. We have been working closely with CyberLink engineers over the past year to make this synergy between our plug-ins and PowerDirector possible. It has involved code adjustments in our plug-ins as well as the enhancement of the PowerDirector plug-in architecture.

Also, Dafydd is correct about saving favorite custom effects (or transitions), so you can quickly re-apply a particular look you have created. That is very easy and possible in all of our PowerDirector plug-ins.

Please let me know if you have other questions.
Sincerely,

Michael Feerer

Thanks for updates Gents.

This plug in seems pretty good and I look forward to buying it.

Do you need to install the latest v2209 patch update to make this plug in work?

Thanks Michael.

The latest patch (v2209) for PD12 does not work probably as most editors have found out.

I have had to revert back to v2109 just to make PD12 work properly!

I will definately check your products out once they have fixed their update patch.

See main forum page for thread relating to this patch

Thanks again Happing editing

Hi Neil -

Though I haven't tested the Pixelan plug-ins thoroughly, I can tell you that the latest 2209 patch (whether it's recommended or not) is not necessary.

I purchased the Ultra pack, which includes SpiceMaster 2.5 TFX, CreativEase, DissolveMaster, 3D Six-Pack, and FilmTouch 2. Running PD12.0.2027.3, all effects and transitions function correctly.

Cheers - Tony

Oh, sorry, thanks for your info. We were not aware CyberLink's 2209 patch was causing problems elsewhere. We have run our PowerDirector plug-ins here fine for quite a while before that patch, so it is likely *recent* earlier PowerDirector 12 versions are fine (such as you saw with version 12.0.2027.3).

For other users, if you are unsure about a PD12 version you have that's even earlier, a good and easy way to check first-hand is to install our demo(s), which are identical to the purchased version but overlay an X over their output.

Please let me know if you have other questions. Sincerely,

Michael Feerer

I have had reports back on the fix I made available to users of 2209 patch* to test, and the fix works.
*The problem is related to the use of Dolby Digital audio in a PDR11 project.

Pixelan 3D Six-Pack.

Here's a couple of images to show you how I selected the 3D Six-Pack transition effect..

1. Select the 3D Six-Pack transition, Pixelan Software plug-in for PowerDirector 12.

2. Multiple 3D transitions available and how to select them in the Pixelan 3D Six-Pack - click the link below.

This is another great plug-in for PowerDirector 12 from Pixelan Software, thanks Michael.

Elsewhere in this forum I've posted a brief tutorial on how to use our SpiceMaster plugin to organically flow/mask ANY other CyberLink PowerDirector 12 effect(s) over time. It is located here: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/30591.page

If anyone has a request for other tutorials from us that our PowerDirector plugins might be able to solve, please let me know.

Note you can play with our demo versions for an unlimited time... they simply will show an X over their output, which will be automatically removed if you buy the plugin. Sincerely,

Michael Feerer

Hello,

two questions:

1) On the PD website, there is a mention of Spicemaster TFX version only, but on the Pixelan's website, I can see also a PRO version. So - will PRO version work with PD12 too?

2) We have small marketing agency here, having a LED screen. I am looking especially for some better work with text. So not so much for the video transitions, but fonts/text, their smooth movement, wipes, etc. Does Pixelan have anything suitable in that regard?

Thanks,
Petr
