playsound,
The common cause is out of date QuickTime. And/or Video card Driver.

In some cases, problems in the Windows Operation System.

Bad install of Powerdirector.

These are not the only causes.

Hi Playsound,
Strange that you needed to go to a "different" user account.

I will chase this issue up further.

Dafydd,

I know of another instance where a User account was corrupted and the only cure was a new user account with Administration privileges.

That was not Powerdirector, no video editor was involved, just Windows, things were just crazy on that corrupted User account.

I seem to remember there was a Microsoft Knowledge base article on the User account corruption. No, I do not have a link.
It was either Windows 98 or Windows XP. Too long ago for my feeble brain.

I created a new account, unintentionally when I had problems with virus card, WRITE.EXE I met recently.
PD12 trial, after PD12Ultra, then it worked anyway, suddenly no more, testing found that PD12 works using another account that naming administrator.
Before I tried to delete the new account, but control panel only allows me to delete the main account.
I intend to fix this in exchange for my hard drive C: SATA2, for SATA 3, soon and renew the system.
Until her quen know, new update solves this and other errors PD12.

Hi,
On my system if the 'Sign into DirectorZone' and the 'Blue circle with Arrow' not available I get a Pd stopped working message. But if I close Pd 12 Ultimate and re-open then wait till the above mentioned is activated all it good. Don't know if that is relevant to this topic tho'

Actually I build another PC, now I can try to repair or renew the "OS" on the other PC, just need to make time and space and have 2 PC running.

I'm not 100% happy because "PD12" has 2 errors that bother much, the last update not fixed, and has another bug but serious.

I saw this information, I not tried to open another account for fear of losing access to everything that was installed, there is little more than 170 GB sofware.
