Hi, As a newbie this is my first question. I am just starting with video editing and purchased PowerDirctor 11 and downloaded it. The next day before I really used it PowerDirector 12 was released and I upgraded to 12. Excuse the simple question. Do I now delete PD 11 or is there a reason to keep it on my computer? Thanks for any help W7 64bit SP1 Intel i7-4770k 2 3.5GHz 32 GB RAM NVIDIA GTX660 480 GB SSD 2000GB 7200 HDD x 2

Hi,
There is another post regarding the deletion of previous versions to the fact that it may delete the content included in Pd11 that came with it, and they will not be available to PD12.

Thanks, I see that post now. It seems there is a problem with losing items created in PD 11. Since I never used PD 11, there is no content there. I assume that I can then delete 11 as I have nothing there to lose. Is that correct? Thanks GarrettOO W7 64bit SP1 Intel i7-4770k 2 3.5GHz 32 GB RAM NVIDIA GTX660 480 GB SSD 2000GB 7200 HDD x 2

Garrett- welcome,

What version are you using? If it is the Deluxe (32 bit) or Ultra (64 bit) then there won't be a lot of "extra" stuff such as content packs and premium extras installed with PD 11.

Version comparison: http://www.cyberlink.com/products/powerdirector-ultimate/compare_en_CA.html

Since you have PD 12 installed and working successfully (there is a new PD 12 update / patch build 2109. Make sure to install that if you haven't already done so: http://www.cyberlink.com/support/powerdirector-ultra/patches_en_CA.html,) then I think you can safely go ahead and uninstall PD 11.

Oh and when you say "delete" you do mean un-install first and then delete the left over remnants?

If you upgraded from PD 11 to PD 12 I would suggest you hang onto the older PD 11 install files as a backup and save your activation keys for both versions just in case.

Thanks Rob. I am using Ultra version that came with Director Suite 2. I guess I do mean uninstall. I do have the discs from Cyberlink for PD 11 and the discs for 12 should arrive soon. Thanks again and I know I will have more questions about other topics. Garrett W7 64bit SP1 Intel i7-4770k 2 3.5GHz 32 GB RAM NVIDIA GTX660 480 GB SSD 2000GB 7200 HDD x 2
