under version v9 and v10, i was able to easily add a scrolling credits object to a movie. and when i wanted to change the text, it was easy to select and hit the modify icon. then i could use the mouse/keyboard to locate a place to change and put in the change.

that changed with v11. i can put in a scroll object. and go to modify. there i would see the first couple lines of either the template scroll or my scroll text (when i used the v10 version). but as soon as i put a mouse in the area, and use the down arrow to position, then navigate the first record or two. then it hides behine a grey panel. i can see the cursor location. but all text is blocked by the grey panel.

if i do a mouseover the text object in the timeline, i can see all the text. but i cant edit anything.

this was not the case in v9 or v10. also, i updated v11 to the latest (2026?). same problem.

im using win7 x64. im also using a xp x64 version (under different license).

sooo. what can i do. right now im forced to go back to v10. is this a bug in v11 (and i think it is)?

Zephyr,

sorry if I haven’t understood you.
I’ll be honest and tell you that I most times make my titles/letters as .png’s which I then
apply motion(s) to. But, every now and then I do titles/credits with what PD offers,
which is quite a lot.
I do understand one can be annoyed by the grey “curtain”, but I can move the box up/down
and type/edit what I want. You can’t?
I keep PD on a laptop that doesn’t have screen capture installed, so I only can offer
some images. If I still don’t get what you mean, let me know.

Nina

[Edit- never mind- now I see, I automatically just grab and move the text box and edit as show. But yes I agree this is a pain to do. Hopefully this gets fixed.]

Interesting... you wouldn't have a screen shot you can post would you?

I'd like to see this since text boxes are one of my favourites to play around with.
I haven't used earlier versions of PD so have no frame of reference.

tks for the comment.

i see that if i grab the outside border of the box, i can move it out of the grey panel area. then edit. then put it back.

so it ends up being an ackward work around which should be fixed in pd11. (so it works as well as pd10).

again. tks. so i wont have to go back to pd10.

color this one solved. zephyr99
