So why does Powerdirector always make my videos pixelated?!

H264 AVC
1920x1080,
30fps,
top field / progressive doesnt change anything
profile type main / high changes nothing,
CABAC / CAVLC changes nothing.
AVG Bitrate 26300
High Quality.

Yet the videos are very pixelated!?
I also got Reduce video blocky artifacts ticked in the preferences under produce.

Samples
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdwer9zQLKE
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-BriX2a-1U

Same settings on both in PD, no detail what so ever, its washed out and pixelated thus ugly and awful to look at in any bigger sized windows esp fullscreen.

There are other people on youtube who also upload obviously, but they seem to have little to no pixelation, is that because Powerdirector is just a software to quickly render a video?! Whereas sony vegas or after effects is purely for quality thus slower?!
I cant however use the other two I mentioned, as they do not support mjpg codec.

Example of someone elses video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EGirVcHx34
Basicly no pixelation, its sharp has detail and everything. herp, are you familiar with the different resolutions settings you can select on the YouTube player for watching video? When I first watched your video on Youtube, the resolution was only 360p by default. You need to click on the cogwheel and select 1080p.

Also, nobody can judge how well a video application produces a video by watching a rehash of it on Youtube.

Actually no I watch my YT videos in 240p, obviously!

Dude, what silly response is that?

Watch it in fullscreen, theres no detail and blocky pixels everywhere, especially the Skydrift one, and you can barely notice any detail in the grass in far cry 3 because of the pixelation.

I have a 24" 1920x1200 monitor and a 27" 1080p VA panel.

And then look at the FC3 video with that guy in the bottom corner, immense detail no pixelation.

Not exactly the latest Star Trek, but I did not see the pixelation. Fuzzy, yes, but very good for a screen capture. __________________________________

Hi Herp -

Are you talking about the fuzzy edges on the plane? (0.11 in YT video)...

You've uploaded in 1080p. Does the produced file show the same symptoms - not on YouTube?

Could you post a screenshot of the same part of the video (a) from the original screen capture & (b) from the produced file

What did you record the screen with? What are the properties of the original capture?

Cheers - Tony

Well, everything is fuzzy, well edges on everything, grass, houses, the plane, even the water lack detail etc.
It is a tad fuzzy in the video thats on my PC yes.

Others on youtube dont seem to have this fuzzy-ness.

I use MSI afterburner to record, 32fps 1080p full frame, mjpg codec. 100% Quality.
Properties on video 1920x1080, data rate 20416kbps, total bitrate 20672kbps, 30fps, 256kbps audi, 2 channels, 48khz.
