Build 12 for PD10

I just (accidentally, while searching the forum to see if there was any news w.r.t. my audio/video "slippage" problem) noticed that there's a new build available for PD10. The thread in which I discovered this fact was seemingly related to the sync problem I had reported a few weeks ago. Therefore, it may be germane and helpful (I'm downloading it now, so I'll soon find out).

You know what would be nice? Some sort of broadband announcement to the community that a fixes build was available. Not all of us live on the forum: we're off doing lots of other stuff, so we may not see a posting that mentions it.

An email to all registered PD10 users would be nice. Or even a build announcement posting in the "constant" area of the forum. Sibelius's (a first-rate music composition app) forum does that: at the top of the forum topics, there's the list of FAQ and First Timer postings, plus they always put notices of new releases and update fixes.

Just a thought for an inexpensive way to make all our lives easier . Chuck Puckett

I have never visited Sibelius's forum, but....

....if I am not absolutely wrong, there are three 'sticky' threads at the head of this forum, where Dafydd Bevan has collected important links and (partly) news where every user, registered or not, may inform him/herself about upgrades of PD.

....at least my copy of PD informed me about the latest upgrade automatically (with a small pop-up-window in the lower right corner of my screen, even outside the PD interface area) on the day the upgrade came out.

....a search in this forum, or regular visits, would have revealed 85 contributions in this forum, including an uncounted number of different threads, dealing with the 'new' upgrade 1012 of PD10. Starting at the day of release:

So: What else could PD or this forum do for you?

...just "thinking back"
Michael.

That would have been swell, but for some reason, PD did not so alert me. If I can get that working, I'm a happy camper
OTOH, my camper felicity is somewhat dampened by my failure to see anything in the Patch Details that mentions my problem. Since some of the fixes described seemed relatively minor compared to what seems a fairly significant bug, I have not much hope that build 12 solves my particular problem. But I'll know later today, I reckon. Chuck Puckett

Just checked: still have the audio/video slippage. So I guess I'm still at the mercy of Cyberlink developers and when they can "Get A Round Tuit". (Used to have a button with that phrase on it. Ah yes, the joys of refined humor ) Chuck Puckett

To check for updates just go here and save it as a book mark and look every now and then..... that is the simplest way as CL will NEVER send out a mass notification..... for anything....

I have never been notified of an up-date from inside the program in the last three builds PD 8-9 or 10 over 2 different computers. Really bad form by Cyberlink. If I had not found this forum I would still be stuck with the original version.

I have to manually check every month or so for updates on the link Bubba provided.

Could it be that you have not activated the login to the DirectorZone?
Or that you have not registered your version of PD?
There SHOULD be any difference between those, being informed by pop-ups and those, not!

Michael.

P.S.: Though: When I accidentally click away or ignore such a pop-up, it does not necessarily pop up EVERY time I use PD...

Hi Michael,

There is definitely something wrong, be it just my machine or not I don't know.

Talking about registration, when I register PD I get a message "You are not connected to the internet please connect and try again".........I then get an email thanking me for registering my product......go figure.

I don't have the time or patience to chase this up, as with most computer things there are work-arounds so I just keep an eye on here or check Cyberlinks website. My youtube channel====> http://www.youtube.com/user/relate2?feature=mhsn

The only notice I have ever got was go look myself.... I am on Director Zone also...... even have the check for updates always checked which seems to make no difference either....

Besides about 30 seconds after a new parch hits the street, someone will already have posted it in here too... but still the bookmarked page is the easiest way.... __________________________________________

I can see where not getting update notices can be an issue for some.
But for those who visit the forum on a fairly regular basis, I haven’t see it mentioned that whenever one visits the forums, at the very top of every page, there are 5 words. Store – Products – Downloads – Support – Company

Instead of saving a bookmark, I simply hover my mouse over Downloads > Click on Software Updates > Then on the (top) green PowerDirector updates button.
With just two quick mouse clicks, you can instantly look to see if there’s a new patch available, and then proceed with browsing the forum posts.
