Video card upgrade question
[Post New]
I plan to pick up an Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 TI card.
Following due diligence I checked Fleabay to see the price ranges out there. While there I see lots of other names attached to the Nvidia name like Asus, PNY, etc.

Are these companies that are licensed to sell Nvidia or inferior items being passed off by sellers as authentic Nvidia?
Very confusing.
Thanks

NVidia sells both cards and chipsets. Those chipsets are used by other manufacturers, so a PNY card might be based on an Nvidia product. In fact, PNY makes a complete line of video cards using GeForce, etc.

If you are upgrading an existing system, check the power supply before investing. I just checked out the PNY liquid-cooled screamer, and they specify a 700w power supply as the minimum.
