They are forcing us to buy more software to make use of the PDR13 ISO img feature. Problem is that the PDR13 ISO does not play when img is burned to disk. The only way I found to get a playable DVD was with P2Go.

The website says that Power2Go 10 Essential is a FREE download that does NOT expire. When you d/l it, you also get a 15-day trial of the Platinum version which does expire.

For the purposes being discussed here, what exactly is it that the Essential (free) version won't do? It really isn't clear on the CL site what the differences are.

For myself, I uninstalled after my 15days ran out because for the most part it's near worthless from a generic video support perspective. Many other free choices out there that do an excellent job.

The ONLY reason I used Power2Go was that I could not create a playable DVD or BluRay DVD from the ISO image created by PDR13. P2Go worked very well and was the only way I could find to create DVDs fast as neede from the ISO image but as soon as trial period expired aand left me with P2Go Essentials I can open the ISO img but it wiil not write a DVD forcing me to buy the full version.

Here is what I cannot understand:

1. Why does PDR13 create an ISO which when burned to DVD will not play. If it did I would not have this problem.


2. Why did Fabbian (above) get P2Go with his PD13 disk and and its not included with the online purchase download?


3. Why should we be forced to buy P2Go in order to use a PDR13 Ult feature?

Hi Eldor - The feature missing from Essentials is the ability to create a playable DVD from a PDR13 ISO project img so we are being forced to buy the full P2Go software to make use of a valuable feature in PDR13 whic is otherwise useless. Try using free IMGburn, I believe it can burn ISO to DVD, playable in a set top DVD player. However, I'm not the expert on IMGburn here. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

The simple answer is I don't need them. Don't create stuff that you don't understand. Don't use features that you don't understand. Those features are in PD13 because people who are used to using professional software want them and request them. It is simpler to send an iso file to someone overseas to create a copy of your dvd. The alternative is to say pkzip or rar all those files to someome as 1 file rather than sending all the separate files to them. The person receiveing those files will be in the same boat if they did not know how to uncompress those zip or rar files to burn to a dvd and don't have the app to do that. How many people would know that...The iso file is a standard used all over the world for this purpose. How many of those individuals do you expect to have video editing software...very few.

all you had to do was try IMGburn free software, but you couldn't be bothered, so I did it for you.
I had an ISO created by PD13, downloaded IMGburn, and easily burnt a DVD-RW which is now playing nicely on one of my DVD players.
Why you found it necessary to post on the "CYBERLINK, LISTEN TO THIS" thread, I cannot fathom, they are just trying to sell their software.

Hi Barry - Don't know what you mean by "couldn't be bothered". I tried ImgBurn and Windows ISO to burn DVD. I have a lot of unplayable wasted DVD's. Both gave me unplayable DVDs. But Power2Go works on the same ISO for DVD, BluRay, 2D and 3D and produces perfect DVD's. It may have worked for you but not me. I'm no expert but please don't accuse without asking.

I also tried BillW's suggestion posted above on 16/03/2015 02:10:38. It worked, but is cumbersome compared to one click with Power2Go 10.

I Posted on LISTEN TO THIS because it was a suggestion on what I believe is a necessary product enhancement allowing PDR13 users to easily make use of the ISO output which would be an invaluable feature if they provide us with the tools to use it.

Oh, I don't think it's a troublesome post, I'm sure it will stay, it's just that particular subjects deserve their own thread.
As for IMGburn, I'm not really a big fan of that, but I always liked Power2Go, but I did buy it to have all the functions.

Bill W pointed me in the right direction. I have found a temporary work-around so that users can create a playable DVD from PD13 ISO files.

I found that Win8.1 has a hidden feature and can mount an ISO in a Virtual Drive without additional software. You can only burn one DVD at a time. It's not ideal but I have tested it on 2D ISO's and it works for DVD, AVCHD DVD, and Blu-ray.

1. Open the folder containing your PD13 ISO and click on the ISO File.


2. A new tab will appear at the top of Explorer called "DISK IMAGE TOOLS".


3. Click on the tab and you will see "MOUNT" (which will create a Virtual Drive you can see in MY PC) and "BURN".


4. Click on BURN and it will create a playable DVD from from your PD13 project ISO image.

So, until Cyberlink gives us a solution, this will work.
