Did you ever install Windows Media Player 9 as I suggested in one of my earlier posts? .

The fact that you can produce in WMV, but not in PowerDirector 9 through 12, that must mean something to people of knowledge.
I would think the removal of EVERY trace of Powerdirector (including the registry)before a re-install would be a good course of action, but maybe you tried that.

Every time I de-install a program, I make a cleaning of the register with "Ccleaner" before reinstalling. Besides, I passed on in the support a file " CollectUserinfo.cab " stemming from their software and I think that a problem in the register would have of the discovered being. If I may pop in with a couple of suggestions (one mild and one extreme):

Mild Suggestion:

For some people, it was required to install the Windows Media Encoder libraries, in the past. Perhaps this is the same problem you have run into, especially when I see that you have had this problem for a while. You do not need to use the utilities that are included with the 'Official' Windows Media Encoder downloads, it is mainly the encoder libraries (codec support files that it installs) that you would be interested in (they get installed automatically into Windows when you install this utility pack). To download the Windows Media Encoding tools directly from Microsoft, they can be found here:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/details.aspx?id=17792

Extreme Suggestion:

Keep plugging away at it and trying things out (you are to be complimented for your patience and persistence)! But if absolutely nothing works for you in the end, there is always the 'Last Step' of Re-installing Windows (formatting and reinstalling the operating system). It is extreme (as stated), but whenever I have run into a problem on the systems of others (at work or at their home), if 'nothing else works', then a clean re-installation of Windows - and starting off by installing only what you need, usually gets things going, in the end. Hopefully it won't come to that (most people don't like to do it ha) but always remember, your problem may be fixed, at the end of the road possibly, by trying it out.

Good luck with it and I hope things work out for you soon

~Troy

Hi Papido france -

I've followed your WMV issue since you first posted it but haven't had anything useful to contribute. That's still the case!

There's something strange happening (obviously). PDR should be able to produce WMVs!

It's not too hard to find other examples of people having trouble with WMVs in different software. In digging around, I found a few other forums that would make you cringe with some of the ridiculous assertions made - I won't post the links here. Bad information.

In fact - the reading I've done (including in this forum) only leaves me more confused.

Here's one from CL's FAQs - http://www.cyberlink.com/support/product-faq-content.do?id=12824&prodId=4&prodVerId=930

Here's someone who couldn't play WMVs in WMP! (*which makes me wonder how installing WMP would help with this issue) - http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-pictures/cant-play-wmv-files-in-media-player-11/0cc221d9-fdef-4e19-9110-54743133bc95

And here's someone who couldn't render WMVs in another well known NLE - http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/off-topic/computers-science-technology/485344-sony-vegas-11-not-rendering-wmv

I wish I'd found something useful to help you out, but I didn't. Sorry.

Cheers - Tony

Tony, The link referred to Windows XP 64 bit. XP x64 was one of Microsoft's huge mistake. It did none of the programs that ran perfect in Windows XP (32 Bit).

I think I tried running Powerdirector(8?) on Windows XP 64, I never could get anything to work right.
I ended up with installing Windows XP (32 bit). All normal Windows programs worked then including Powerdirector.

Windows 7 was a huge improvement. I am still using Windows 7 both 64 bit and 32 bit versions. 64 bit on the main computer.

Hello "Troy from the GTAM" and " ynotfish "

Thank you for the attention which you carry(wear) in my problem.

"Hi Troy": Windows codec Media Pack and Windows Media to Encode 9 Series are installed(settled) well on my PC.

I reinstalled my BONE last week.

" Ynotfish ": thank you for your links that I consulted. Nobody brings solution of my problem.

I wonder if the BONE supplies by Microsoft in the integrators of PC is not in question?????

I wait for news of the support Cyberlink. Win7 64bits Pro OEM - i7-3820 3.6 GHz - GeForce GTX 660
