In PD8 it is not possible to add more video tracks, except in the form of PIP tracks.

These additional PIP tracks can be used as video tracks.

You might add 2 tracks by
1st step: create a MPG of your (main) video track plus the PiP track
2nd step: create another MPG (or the proper video) from your first produced MPG plus the PiP track (which now is track #3).

PIP's easily can function in PD8, as video tracks. The only issue being you can't add a transition, other than fade in/out. Why are you hatin' on the PIP?

What?

PD8 only supports 1 video track plus 1 PiP track, ........<deleted rest of message>

ooops!
There is MY mistake.
PD8 does support up to 9 PiP tracks.
So my 'instruction' IS senseless.
(up to today I've never used more than a second music track....)

You could create a video from your clips using the 'normal' video track, where ALL transitions are possible. "Produce" that into a separate video file (e.g. MPG), and insert THAT into a PiP track - then even in the PiP ALL transitions are possible. Only the exact timing might become heavy work.
