When I add a .avi file to my project, save, quit and run PowerDirector again, all .avi files that I previously added are "gone". The clips are still there, but they are blank and have no info attached to them.

Solution?

If you move or rename videos in a project, you get black place holders. Or if the media is on a removable storage, and the removable storage is disconnected. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.

I have not done any of the mentioned. Same thing happens every time I add, save, quit and restart. All clips are located in the same folder, but only .avi files disappear.

Do you have the AVI files in a folder on your local Hard Drive?

How are you saving?

The correct way is File > Save Project As, and give the project a unique name such as 001.pds, 002.pds and so on.

Yes, they are in a folder on my local hard drive. I am saving the way you suggested.

It's strange, some .avi files seem to stick, others don't.
