I have Powerproducer v5. I am using DVD-R and when I try to burn I get the message "This disc type is not supported". I really do not know what to do because I know little about computers. If it matters, I got someone to install a dvd burner just recently. Is there something they did not do right? Thanks

Would you please tell me your dvd module name?
What the disc type (DVD/+VR/-VR) did you select?

I am having the same issue and discovered that you have to select the proper disc for it, you need a bland DVD-VR or DVD+VR. When you go to "Produce Movie Disc" it comes up with a screen saying Select Your Disc. Under the 2nd one, be sure to select which of the discs you are using.

Problem is, I can't find these discs (VR) anywhere. I've been to a bunch of stores but no one's even heard of them. Do you or anyone else know where I may be able to find them?

I have burned +r/-r dvd and blurays never seen that message. I have found that for the Bluray - Re I have to format them first then use pp5 to burn.

+/- VR is kind of disc format like DVD-Video.
-VR only can burn on DVD-RW and DVD-RAM disc.
+VR is like DVD-Video format.
It can be edited again but DVD-Vdeio can't.

So I should be able to use the regular DVD-R/+R with the producer program? I wonder why it isn't working for me...

You can use DVD-R/+R disc for +VR profile in [Right-to-Disc] page but can't use them in [Produce Movie Disc] page

So I need the RW for Produce Movie disc? Or the VR type?

If you don't have special request, you can use DVD+/-R(W) to burn DVD-Video.
