PD14 a feature in PD13 taken out... a step in the wrong direction.
[Post New]
I used to be able to highlight multiple clips and disband their audio using a shortcut I created myself under keyboard hotkeys (pd13). This is no longer possible in pd14. Please correct me if I'm wrong (and I hope I am). Now I'm only limited to disband audio to a SINGLE CLIP... this is big... not big HUGE for me. If I'm right... PLEASE patch this up asap!

You're right, I just had a quick play and note the Link/Unlink shortcut is now "one" in PDR14 but separated in 13. I'll pass on the request/observation.

Thank you Dafydd. I deal with projects that have 200 plus clips. I disband audio to at least half of those clips. Now I will have to do that one by one or revert to PD 13.

Hi,
After reading another member's post I tried the Export/Import of customised shortcuts to see if that would work. It didn't. frown

Hi Dafydd.

Thank you for keeping my dilemma in mind. I did a project today and it was indeed tedious work to do it without the multi select disband audio option. I'm sure it would take a simple fix to revert the behaviour back to PD13. I hope the software engineers listen to this. I will keep working with PD14 for the moment as I find it somehow more stable in my computer.

I don't understand why CL would remove that kind of functionality. Computers were designed to do the repetitive work for us. CyberPowerPC | Win7HP-64 | AMD FX-8320 3.5 Ghz | 8GB Mem | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB | WEI 5.9

It indicates CL's on-going lack of attention to detail that all of us have witnessed over the years. It is sad that these folks can't get their act together. But then again Win 10 has similar quirks as well. It must be contagious ! Win 10, i7

I don't exactly see it that way. They combined the link/unlink into one label but it still works exactly the same in PD14 and for that matter PD15 as the two independent controls in PD13 and can be used to unlink audio from multiple clips.

What I notice is the following:
a) In PD13 one had both a link and unlick user hot key options. Custom user defined hot key for unlink works on multiple clips, the link does not work on multiple clips, only a single clip.
b) In PD14/PD15 one has a single link/unlink hot key option. Custom user defined hot key works for unlink on multiple clips, the link does not work on multiple clips, only a single clip.

So I see it as no feature was lost, but the link does not work correctly on multiple clips in either of the versions specified.

Jeff

Hi Aloxide, Jeff and all -

It seems like we're having the same discussion in two places - http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/50265.page & I think what Jeff has reported is just as I've found here.

I'm confused by some posts in this thread confirming that a "feature has been taken out" so that multiple unlinking no longer functions. Here, using custom shortcuts, it works the same in all versions I've tested.

Cheers - Tony
