Greetings-
Following CyberLink's decision to remove HD-DVD support in ver 8, (which I am VERY, VERY disappointed about...) I've been doing what CyberLink recommended and have both 7 and 8 installed in vista x64.
Both programs work fine.
HOWEVER, any time I insert a Blu-Ray disc, BOTH players launch and try to play it.
I have PD 7 set as default for "HD DVD movie" and PD 8 set as default for "Blu-ray Disc movie" in the AutoPlay settings under default programs.

I suppose I could switch BD to "Ask every time" , but that is far less than ideal as I'm using a remote control on a home theater PC and would have to dig out a mouse every time.

Also of note, if I launch PD8, THEN insert a BD disc, PD7 STILL launches anyway...

So basically, is there any way to prevent PD7 from auto launching when a BD disc is inserted?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

PS- was a "Launch PowerDvd" shortcut application ever written for Vista Media Center? I seem to recall seeing photos of one a long time ago. I think it was from CES before PowerDvd 8 was launched...

What I had to do was disable the powerdvd 7 services from starting with windows.

To do this hit the start button and type "msconfig" in the search field just above the start orb. Click on the result that shows up in the search field above. Then go to the "Startup" tab. Under "Startup Item" look for items with powerdvd and unckeck them. Leave the ones with powerdvd8 checked.
