I just picked up both volumes of the James Bond Blu-rays - none of the six discs play. The screen just goes to black and pressing the controls (play, menu, etc) do nothing.

Anybody have this trouble as well?

I had slightly better luck. Only one of the disc refuses to play - For your Eyes Only.

The disc shows the warning and information about commentary and that's it. I have installed the latest patch and that hasn't changed anything.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the info,
PB

I just got the "For Your Eyes Only" Disc today and it freezes up after the first warning screen. The screen goes black and the player freezes before the main menu shows up.

All my other BluRay titles play, so it looks like we need an update here.

System: Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit with SP1, two ATI 4870 X2 VGA cards in crossfire, Dell LCD monitor.

I have PowerDVD 7 Ultra and all I get is a blank screen with Die Another Day, From Russia With Love and with For Your Eyes Only.

Come on Cyberlink - deal with this, please!

I have the fun problem with a blank screen for 1 minute.
Then the happy message: your Bluray player is not uptodate.

The biggest problem is with Live and Let die. Can't start the movie. Just a blank screen. If I use chapter stops menu, I can start the movie from chapter 1 and rewind to the beginning.

Bluray DRM is wonderful...

Haven't had one single problem with any HDDVD disc so far.

I find it amusing that Cyberlink has a James Bond based game on their web site called "The Man With The Blu-Ray Gun." Yet, their DVD software cannot play the just-released Blu-Ray James Bond movies.

*knock* *knock* Hellooooo Cyberlink! Anybody home? *knock* *knock* Is anybody working in this? A response of some kind would be appreciated.

In case this helps someone....

I was initially unable to play any of the discs in Volume 2 (Thunderball, From Russia with Love, and For Your Eyes Only.)

I have the LG OEM version and thought I was up to date, since the upgrade button would only offer me the upgrade to the full version, but there was a link under the 0103 Error thread that took me to this upgrade page:

http://www.cyberlink.com/multi/download/patches_112_ENU.html

I installed the LG upgrade tonight and it fixed the issues with two of the three discs, though For Your Eyes Only still only plays the initial warning screen and then halts with a black screen instead of the menu.

So, at least two of the discs now work... here's hoping they fix the issue with For Your Eyes Only soon.

I have a similar problem. PDVD8 Ultra does not play "From Russia with Love" on my Vista 32-bit machine. On the other hand, Casino Royale plays fine.

Casino Royale was released months ago. This problem effects the whole lot of new Bond releases.

I am having much the same problem with the Blu Ray DVD set of 'The Godfather Trilogy' The dvds load but stall on the opening film scene--nothing I have tried makes them play. All my other Blu ray films play perfectly. Even upgraded to Power DVD8 Ultra but still no joy. Also tried it on another brand new Blu ray system but still the same problem. The 4 setter goes back to Amazon tomoorow

I wasn't trying to hijack this thread about the Bond problem but I was just overjoyed as a new member who has spent all day tring to resolve this 'no play' problem and finding I am not alone!

I just purchased PowerDVD Ultra 8 and I am having same issue with James Bond Movie "For Your Eyes Only" I just get a black screen and that it...

Personally I am no inpressed spending $100.00 for software and cannot play what it is intended to do, if this is what Blu-Ray copy protection is well there going to be lots of pissed off people out there.

SO FIX IT CYBERLINK or simply put I want my money back.

I only have Casino Royale (the new one tha was just released in the last week or two with the box sets of the old movies) and have trouble with it on PDVD8 Ultra as well.

I have PDVDUltra 7.3 that came with my LG drive and this disc plays fine with that, but in PDVD8 it has issues. It does play in PDVD8 but it freezes lots of times. Even in the previews before you get to the menu, it freezes very shortly into the Hancock preview, and then Casino Royale movie itself freezes frequently.

Oh, I do have the latest update for PDVD8 that was posted on 10/23. That update did resolve issues with the Iron Man disc but it did not fix the issues I'm having with the Casino Royale disc.
