Hi folks, the problem I'm having with My Power Producer V5, is that having completed my project using Pd 7 I open PP then click on Open Project & then on Import Video files.
Now I must say 1stly before I go any further though, that after completeing this project, & because I have on this occasion {& this is the 1st project I have completed since recently purchasing Power Director 7 version} i created a project using photo files {only} to take advantage of all the transitions/pips etc that's avail with V7, then rendered it as an AVI file.
Now then, this is the file I have imported into Power Producer after clicking on “Open Project”. It appears that maybe because it's an AVI file, it will not burn successfully if I have created a menu on a Template background.
However, if I set the preferences under "Project" before burning to disc as {Play all titles without a Menu} it will burn successfully. The downside to that is you don't have a home page so to speak when you load the disc & hence no menu as well.
Now I am yet to create a MPEG project & render it to proceed to that same point to see what the outcome will be. I only hope I can do the menu with the usual background music as well, otherwise I will be left quite frustrated as to what to do.
Can anyone tell me if this is happening simply because it is an AVI file I have created from Rendering, or if I'm doing something wrong.
Any suggestions from anyone in the forum would be so appreciated please.
Regards, John

Hi, John,
Can you import the MPEG file to create DVDs with menu by using PP5 now?
What version is your PowerProducer5.0? 5.0 Standard? or 5.0 Ultra?
Regards,
JJ

Hello JJ thanks for your reply, I have rendered some video files as a test to an MPEG 1 & 2 file {tried both} but cannot import either into PP5. By the way I'm using PP5 Ultra. I click on import video file, & it won't come in, some message comes up {can't remember the error message}. I really would like to know firstly,
>>>do i render the video files I have edited in Pd7 Ultra to an MPG1 file or an MPG 2 file then if so, how do I go about importing the rendered saved file in PP 5 ultra.
I have rendered such files as an AVI file, & was able to import that file into PP5. Then i've created the menu but this is all so different to my much earlier version. For instance, if you selected a photo as your main page in the old version, you could click on a button to apply that picture to all menus, but this one you can't do that. It appears you have to do that individually.
The same applies to the your selected music track to play when you load your disc, when you done this in the old version, you could choose for the track to apply in all menus, but in PP5 ultra, it appears you have to do each menu individually.
Am I correct in saying this, or is there something I should be doing that I'm currently not.
Look forward to your help on that JJ, also have tried to give you as much detail as possible.
Regards John

Hello everyone again, just another angle of my ongoing frustrations with PP5 Ultra.
I write again to you regarding ongoing errors in burning to dvd following my Producing of a movie project.
Originally I had been using PD Express NE, together with PP 3NE for a few years before finally succuming to temptation to upgrade to a later version & purchased Cyberlink DVD Suite Ultra V6
Then not long after in fact I purchased an upgrade to PD 7 along with PP 5 as PD v6 came with PP 4 if I remember correctly, & I needed PP 5 if i wanted to have access to Director Zone.
>>Now after creating my Menu in PP 5, just like I had always done in the past with PP 3NE, then proceed to burn, it gets to about 95%-97% burn then a message appears saying the possible error could be the muxer getting an incorrect bitrate {something to that}.
Now i have written in before not long after i purchased & installed my software in regards to this matter actually, but I have still not received the help I need to fix the problem.
I haven't responded again since that last correspondence purely out of a little embarresment I guess, & have tried so many different things to see if I could rectify this problem myself without being seen to be making a nuisance of myself at the same time.
I have tried reinstalling the software, but to no avail. When I have produced the completed project in PD 7, i have then created an AVI file,
having then opened PP 5, have then imported the AVI file into it & proceeded to create my menus, import my chosen music & using both the existing templates for the background image you would see when you load the disc, as well as personally chosen photos.
When I then go from Author to Preview, I get no music playing as it should & as it would once loaded into your DVD player, so maybe this is where the Muxer error problem with the bitrate comes into it.
Would anyone know what may be causing this to happen, & if this is the problem area, then how could I fix it please.
Thank you once again to all in the forum,
Kind Regards,
John Gregory
