Actually, CyberLink tech support do recommend the MS Clean Up utility and have been doing so for a long time.

I had been trying for a month to get answers to
Error 2711 from Tech Support. They did everything
except tell me to run MS Windows Install Clean up.
I could not find anything in the forums on error 2711
except other users with the same problem that I had.

That is why I posted the solution I found, so others
wouldn't have to go through what I experienced.

Hi Bobw,

There was nothing wrong with your post, on the contrary I raised the issue with CyberLink and mentioned your posting. The post/topic was looked at by members of support and others as they were concerned you weren't assisted better by tech support earlier on.

I'm pleased you posted the information and I made sure it was known to CyberLink.

I too find it TOO BAD that Cyberlink NEVER is able to give good support. I have used Cyberlink for sevaral years, but everytime there is a problem: Some of their customers have to find the solution. It is never in FAQ and their support takes months if they answer.

A great hand to "bobw" for making this solution public!!

BOBW, many thanks for your help. Your post was helpful and precise to the issue. I spent many hours yesterday with the same error "Error: -1625 This installation is forbidden by system policy" (I use Vista Ultimate)and have been searching frantically for a solution like this. Thanks again.
