I receive the same error code when trying to burn label side of a lableflash dvd using label print.
I only receive the message when trying to burn a jpg image to disc.
Cyber link, after much trouble shooting, claims it is the drive itself and I need to get it replaced.
I will see.

Hello to all and special to Edric,

I bought my LG Blue Ray burner a week ago. It's disapointing that i still can't write Blu Ray. I hope that the problem soon will be solved.

Here is my report.

!!! i have the same problem !!!

will finally PLEASE someone from cyberlink answer and solve the problem ???

i have a LG GGW-H20L (BD Burner) and i used the LG media that came with the burner (LG BD RE 25 GB).
i have also a 50 GB from TDK and some Sony BD-R (i dont dare use these as they are destroyed by an error. so first i need a successful burn of a BD-RE media.
on my brandnew burner i hacve yet NEVER been able to burn a BD media - always error code 0xeb020b88 !!!

i even updated the firmware to the actual YL05, but i cannot burn BD.

Cyberlink HiDef Suite (Power2Go) gives this error

06:20:41, File(cl_DVDData.cpp), Line(305)
-> Burning Fail, ErrCode: 0xeb020b88

i sent the logfile and dxdiag.txt to cyberlink support bit no answer yet.

does someone here have a clue ?

HELP !!!

all those log files look the same, mine is exactly alike.

it looks like Cyberlink knows of this problem and has no ideal about how to solve it.

my official question to them is now in the fourth reply and has never been answered, but is willingly delayed by asking questions about things they already know (f.e.: having the log file, asking for 1.) dxdiag.txt (ok), asking 2.) about serial number (that they already had in the first request through web form), asking 3.) for a screenshot of the error (that tells far less than the .log file received at first request) ... and still running with no answer ...)

that gives me the impression that they do not have a solution !

it is simply obviously too early to buy bd burners, and i will return mine this week as i am running out of patience.

a tip:
for all of you thinking about buying a bluray burner (like the LG GGW-H20L that comes with the Cyberlink HiDef Suite (including Power2Go) and that cannot even burn the disk it comes with (LG media!) : DO NOT BUY A BLURAY BURNER, at leat not yet (December 200, as it simply doesnt work).

I have the same problem. Forum in here seems no "Help" at all. Everyone is complaining.... more than 1 year. No one get the answer or post the answer. Power2Go has no time to study and just asks people to pay and upgrade.

This is the techology provided from the "Top" technical country. I have no doubt why it has so many problems for this country. Seems it likes making money more than fixing the problem. Disappointed.

Hi,

I had the same error code. I use Vista.

I made it work, but I'm not sure how... I don't think the solution can be that easy, but nevertheless it worked when I changed the reading and writing speed from 8x reading/2x writing to 4x reading/2x writing.

I can't show you the logs, I didn't save them.

Well, not to be redundant or anything but I too have the same problem. I have an HP dv6 1030US Pavillion Notebook and the DVD Suite Deluxe comes bundled with it. I tried Power2Go for the first time last night attempting to burn a data disc using a DL +R DVD from Memorex. Same error comes up.

I searched the internet and found this page from Cyberlink:

http://docs.cyberlink.com/multi/support/answerbox_productfaq.jsp?FID=6761&nProdId=19&nProdVerId=200

It states this is a hardware problem.

So, I called HP and spent about an hour on the phone with them. They burned data successfully to my disc using the Windows built in burning software, so naturally they said the hardware is fine and the problem is actually Cyberlink's software.

On another note, I tried to find my version of the DVD Suite software but, unless I've lost my mind, I cannot figure out where this information is. I do however see the upgrade button quite prominently displayed and easily located ... funny how that is.

I hope that someone from Cyberlink is monitoring these forums and responds soon with a fix for this. I spent half a day on this problem, wasted a DL DVD disc which are expensive and I've had it; my next step will be to uninstall Cyberlink DVD Suite and get Nero if there isn't any response soon.

Best,
Max

I found a fix that worked for me (Windows XP, Optiarc DVDRW AD 7200a drive, burning CDs) at
http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=http--supportmicrosoftcom-kb-324129&sliceId=&docTypeID=DT_MICROSOFTKB_1_1&dialogID=45998917&stateId=1%200%2046004743

"This error message may occur if the IMAPI CD Burner service is turned off. To resolve this issue, make sure that the service is running and that it has not been turned off. By default, the service is set to Manual. Start the IMAPI CD Burner service, and then test it by writing to a CD-R or a CD-RW. If the service works, you may have to set the service to Automatic if it does not start in Manual mode. To set the service to Automatic, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc /s, and then click OK.
2. Double-click IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service.
3. Under Service Status, click Start.
4. Try to write data to a CD."

This occure due to many reasons that will lead to a reading error. The solution I can suggest you is to clean your cd drive lense by a cleaning CD. If still you face the problem you have to compromise with the speed. just reduce the writing speed 50%.( The burning speed option will be availabe with the burning software). This should have solved your problem.

okay the question is AM I GOING TO EVEN GET A REPLY

I am getting this error on a computer I have had for only 6 months
things were going along quite nicely and then the ERROR!!!

Now I know it is not my burner as I thought according to the FAQ
I tried an external burner and now am getting the same error message
how can I delete this program and then reinstall if it already came preinstalled on my computer??
Need to know ASAP
trying to get space on my computer and need to burn files off.

Hi Teeter,

If Power2Go came pre-installed on your computer, then it should be on a disc that came with the computer in the box.

If you don't have the disc anymore, you can contact the computer manufacturer to get it again.

Follow what rafeeq said, and burn the disc at a low speed. From my experience and research, it doesn't seem to take long for disc burners to start having issues.

Regards,
David
