cyberlink clqtkernelclient32 has stopped working

Hi guys

I just bought PowerDirector 11 Ultimate and when I load it up, I get the following error "cyberlink clqtkernelclient32 has stopped working". I've removed QT, uninstalled PD11, downloaded latest QT from Apple's website and installed it, then installed PD11 again - and patched it to the latest release... and I still get that error.

How can I stop it?

Thanks!

Hi,
Looks like a simple corrupt installation.

Messing with a latest QT only after you've re-installed PDR11.
1. Uninstall PDR11
2. Uninstall QT (because this is part of your problem and likely the cause)
3. Re-boot
4. Locate the QT folder in Programs and delete it.
5. Reinstall PDR11. (QT is reinstalled by PDR11)
Run the program.

If after the program runs you want to install the latest QT then do so - do not uninstall, just update QT.

Hi,
don't use BETA drivers....they are not reliable and they are for debugging..use WhQL drivers.
Jim
p.s. Most graphic drivers are geared to PC games not Video editing...we just went through a few weeks of problems and finally got it sorted out... Intel i7-2600@3.4Gz Geforce 560ti-1GB Graphic accelerator, windows 7 Premium 12GB memory

Just rolled back to the 12.10 WHQL drivers. Same issue :/

I am getting pretty fed up now and I can't claim a refund as I activated the product!

Hi WildWayz,
Thank you for the information which I have passed on.

The "CLQTKernelClient32.exe" is located at:
C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDirector11\runtime\encoderPack

1. I'd like you to uninstall via the Control Panel both PDR11 and QuickTime.
2. Reboot
3. Go to Program Files and located PowerDirector 11 and delete the folder.
4. Delete all contents from your Temp folder
5. Reboot.
6. if you purchased the download version of PDR11 please carry out the following.
7. Download a 30 day program from RARLabs called WinRAR - a compression program (I use it).
8. open the compressed PDR11 download using WinRAR and place the unpacked contents to a new folder.
9. Locate the folder containg the "bits" of PDR11 and select "setup.exe"
10 You're now reinstalling PDR11 and QT.
11. Open your project etc.

Let me know how you get on.

Hi Dafydd

Thanks for getting back to me. Isn't that the same as removing PD11/Quicktime, deleting the left over folders then re-running the install?

I currently do the method you mention - here's the contents of the "bits" directory from the extracted RAR file:

Volume in drive D is HDD
Volume Serial Number is A051-4ABB

Directory of d:\Users\James and Julia\Desktop\PowerDirector11Ultimate_CL.2215_GM3123206_VDE121026-03

So to sum it up, i've tried:

Removing PD11 and Quicktime and all PD11 extra programs it installs.
Deleted any reference to Cyberlink and Apple off my system ie
c:\Program Files\Cyberlink
c:\Program Files (x86)\Cyberlink
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple

Anything in AppData\Roaming too.

I then use CCleaner to remove any registry items and temp files.

Reboot.

Navigate to d:\Users\James and Julia\Desktop\PowerDirector11Ultimate_CL.2215_GM3123206_VDE121026-03\setup.exe

Install.

I've also tried downloading the trial from Cyberlinks website and that also crashes too.

Hi James,
I don't think I explain what the WinRAR was for or the other actions.
1. Clearing the temp director - important to get rid of the previous data.
2. Using WinRar to extract the installation data and us it to install from.
3. Locating the Program File content and deleting it. Removes the clqtkernelclient32 content.
I'm presuming files have become corrupted and are not being over-written.

The CLCleaner tool just fools the registry and does not remove or deletes any of the files you're having problems with. It allows a reinstall to take place. The failure to overwrite is likely caused by an unpacking and re-use of the same content which itself may be corrupt.

I'm just trying to clear the decks and get you to have a open field to install from - removing data and creating a completely new installation route/ the new unpacked by WinRAR PDR11.

Please follow what I've written. You don't appear to have done that yet.

That worries me.

I wonder if you simply have a corrupt OS installation or you have a hardware failure. You did mention the computer was only put together over the weekend.

Video Editing will show up errors in OS and hardware when the system is stressed.

Hmmm

I don't think it is the OS being corrupted. I've downloaded trials of MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 2013 and Pinnacle Movie Studio 16 and both run fine.

I haven't even put the system under load yet - I get that error when the program loads up - when it is importing the sample videos.

I'm also a bit of a gamer, so got Far Cry 3 installed and Battlefield 3 - which are both very system intensive games.

Would it make any difference that when I installed Windows 7 64-bit, I used Audit Mode to change where User data and ProgramData are stored (on the HDD and not SSD)? It is the official way Microsoft recommend.

So basically C drive (SSD) contains
C:\Program Files
C:\Program Files (x86)
C:\Windows

D drive (HDD) contains
D:\ProgramData
D:\Users

Just copying the downloaded PD11 self extracting file across the network.

So far i've done:

1. I'd like you to uninstall via the Control Panel both PDR11 and QuickTime.
2. Reboot
3. Go to Program Files and located PowerDirector 11 and delete the folder.
4. Delete all contents from your Temp folder
5. Reboot.

Once the file has copied across the network, i'll extract it and continue on with your advice.

I have now done all of this:

I have not installed the latest patch from the members area - thought I would try it without for now.

When I click PD11, I enter in the key and it loads the interface and imports data from the samples. It is here where it is crashing.
