Removing the spaces/gaps on your time line while editing

A gap/space will show as a "BLACK" spot/space/image when previewing. The amount of time it shows depends on how much of a gap/space you have between items placed on the time line.

Dafydd suggests:

Try the following.

1. Spread the time line out
2. Locate the gaps between the clips
3. Position the cursor and "Right Click" on your mouse
4. In the displayed dialogue box, select "Remove and Close gap"
5. repeat as needed.

Bubba Suggests:

I had the same problem at first with PD9. After expanding the time line then I could see the gaps because we are used to the new item just snapping against the last item on the line with older versions of PD.

As with any question you may post in the forums.... if it does not solve your problem let us know.....BUT... if the advise does solve your problem PLEASE post again to let us know that too..

If you right click IN THE GAP you will get a pop up edit window... use the bottom option... See attached.

Dafydd, could you please post the url for the PD tutorials. My PD9 only shows the directors chair image in the preferences section, there is no link or picture that you have in yours. I am running the latest build.

Cheers

REF: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/15591.page

Here are the changes I made during a Test to Capture HDlite (1280x720) footage.

1. I selected the WebCam (rather PD did for me) in Capture

2. I selected Profile>Custom

3. I then chose setting and selected the onboard webcam microphone

Only when the onboard microphone was selected did the frame size change to 1280x720, 16:9

I hope the information helps.

Place the video into the video track.
Split it, where you want to pause.
Position the slider on the first frame of the following clip (the second half of the two clips) and take a snapshot.
Insert the snapshot - still image between the split clips.
You now have a 5 second pause moment.

The duration of the still image can be altered to suit.

Hope it helps

Read Fred's guide on why and how to update your graphic card driver.

A well written guide points editors to NOT rely on Window or other checking software but to go get them and update.

The post was previously a sticky. To save space at the start of the PD9 forum, items are moved and sticky messaages updated.

To enlarge the display, double click on the player view screen and the full screen video will appear.

Rotate a Video

To rotate a video or image:
Place the media in the video track and highlight
Go to the preview window on the right
Place your cursor over the centre circle
The cursor changes
Click and move the cursor

I decided to put together a video that shows what many of the various effects do when used in productions. It is sometimes not so easy to visualize how the effect will actually look.

Many of these effects have options to vary the effect. I have the original of the video showing below the video that has the effects applied. Not all of the effects are shown.

Have a look if you are interested. Effects in PD9 - What do they do?

Hi,
Here's what I select in:
Preference>Confirmation section of PD9.

I deselect all of the above bar one feature. What you chose is up to you. I don't need to have the costant pop up confirmation messages.
