PowerDVD will only play blue ray movies for me when I lower my desktop resolution to 1280x800 or less. I have a 30 inch monitor from Dell that runs natively at 2580x1600 and every time I try to play a blue ray disk at that resolution the movie plays for about 5 seconds and then I get the error code 0110 message. Whats up PowerDVD? Why does the resolution of my desktop mater?
Im running on Vista. HDCP advisor shows a red light for my monitor at the normal 2580x1600 and a green light at 1280x800. I really dont consider this acceptable as the quality at 1280x800 is so bad I might as well be watching a DVD instead of a blue ray disk. I mean thats not even 1080p =(
I read a similar post in a different thread from a guy w/ dual monitors:

I only have one monitor so thats not my problem. Please help.
Thanks a bunch

Following up on my initial post. Here is another interesting bit. When I pop in a blue ray movie and start playing it, the initial size of the window is very small. I mean the size of the window is less then the rez that I need to set my desktop to in order to be able to play blue ray movies. I would think that if the window size was small that would mean less work for PowerDVD to have to do whatever black magic is needed to do the HDCP stuff.
The the cause of my problem seems directly tied to the size of my desktop, and the resolution that I run at. Hopefully there is some fix for this? =(
