Hi All

You're all probably aware of this one but here it goes.

There is a patch available for PD9 to update to build 2330.

Is anyone using it? And if so, is it any better?

This thread talked about an update coming...
http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/14521.page

But you're the guy who has alerted us to the update's official arrival. I'm downloading it now. Thank-you!

P.S. Followup: The 2330 Build installed without a hitch. But be advised that (for me) there was a 30 second lull between when the install-a-shield wizard disappeared and when the actual Cyberlink installation dialogue screen showed up, asking me to agree to the licensing terms, etc., before actual installation began. Don't make the mistake of thinking that the installation is finished if this lull in viewable activity occurs with you as well. This must be a pretty major update, because it did a lot of erasing, copying and installing of files.

NOTE: Hover your mouse over the blue "I" at this page to see a list of the updates/fixes in build 2330 for PD9:

Eeekkkk - I've lost all SVRT with my 264/AVC 25mbps 1920x1080/50p clips. It seems (for me anyway) that instead of the bug where SVRT was lost from the point requiring a render (eg transition, split, title etc) it no longer works at all. I'm getting that 100% of my clips need to be rendered.

Anyone else?

Thanks

May not be LOST Nathan. What I see is that none of the colors necessarily mean in need of 100% rendering. I haven't looked at all my projects yet.

I did a test of a single clip on its own (eg no edits, titles etc) and.....it not only rendered the whole thing (against my manually modified 50p profile) but the result did not play well in any of my players. I noticed that accroding to Media Info the output is now a Main@L5.1 / CABAC / 2 Ref Rames and has no specified FPS (original was High@L4.2 / CABAC / 4 Ref Frames).

I will have to play with the profiles some more but ... I'm also going to be away with work for a few days PD 64 Bit-Win10 64 Bit-32GB RAM-80TB HDD

Interesting and a False Alarm on my part - I reset my custom profiles back to High (and max bit rates in the GUI), then manually edited them to bump up the bit rate and it is all as it was before. SVRT works till a sequence that needs rendering then will not return to SVRT.

Thanks
Nathan

PS - I don't know if I had reset these profiles as "Main" instead of "High" or if the values in the "Profile.INI" file is now read diferently.

Want some cheese with that???

EDIT: Sometimes we are so caught up in the process that we miss the fact that we may be making an error ourselves. I have (more than once) been guilty of doing things complicated, and losing track of my place in the process, blaming the process, then finding out I err'ed.

Having said that, I am still looking to see, hopefully, that 2330 has resolved some of the common issue we face in this forum everyday.

Hi. I have been reading this forum for a few months, but this is my first post. Thanks to all the contributors for the great help and advice!

I recently upgraded from PD8 to PD9. It works great for me, and seems to be much faster. The issue with the SmartSound tracks disappearing in Create Disc really had me frustrated though.

I installed the new 2330 patch, and everything (including SmartSound, yea!) is working splendidly now. Nice job, Cyberlink.

Thanks again for all the great help from the members of this forum, and special thanks for the suggestion to un-tick 'auto-save'- I haven't had a crash since following this advice. Why are pirates called Pirates? 'Cause they just AARRRRRGGGHHH!!!

Sincerely, Cliff

vegdiver;
Thanks for the time you took to make a positive comment. We hear those very little (it seems) and it makes the ongoing effort worthwhile.

Also, thanks for making us aware that 2330 fixed the Smartsound issue. That has plagued more than one user here.

Welcome!!
